convention, the leading international conference and exhibition on computer graphics and interactive techniques
taking place August 3rd through August 7th at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

MAXONís 13th year at SIGGRAPH stands to be its most memorable with scheduled demonstrations and how-toís
that reveal the power, flexibility and ease-of-use of its leading CINEMA 4D and BodyPaint 3D software applications
in the production of award-winning 3D motion graphics, broadcast graphics and promos, feature films,
film/game/television pre-visualization, interactive gaming and video production.
MAXON Booth Highlights - #3219
Press and show attendees can expect to see guest artists from several MAXON customer sites and educational
institutions who will present a wide range of techniques and creative solutions that inspire them to push the
boundaries of 3D technology and help them maximize their software investment. Tom Quach, senior texture/matte
painter at Sony Pictures Imageworks, will show the compelling visual effects look in Watchmen. The creative team at
Innovative Show Design (ISD) will demo the making-of several broadcast set design projectsómost recently for the
Super Bowl XLIII and Poker After Dark, both for NBC, and the 2009 Speed Week at Daytona 500. MAXON also
welcomes Dr. Volker Sassmannshausen, a.k.a. Dr. Sassi, a noted CINEMA 4D power user and prolific contributor to
MAXONís online education and training resource, Cineversity, to preview, JET (Junior Extraterrestrial); a short
animated feature piece he is creating in-full as a solo endeavor that concurrently documents each step in the
animation process for a new series of comprehensive tutorials for the Cineversity site. In its ongoing emphasis to
inspire the next generation of 3D artists, MAXON will host Alan Williams, an MFA broadcast design & motion
graphics student at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and winner of this yearís prestigious Inspire09
symposiumís ë9 x 90 Competitioní, who will present his winning motion-media design project, Meditations in a
Toolshed. A complete schedule of guest appearances will be available daily at the MAXON show booth, # 3219.
MAXON is also pleased to announce that two of its customers have created computer-generated animated films that
will be screening at the SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival including: Nucleus Medical Art, for its medical
animation entitled ìAtherosclerosis," which features a graphic depiction of atherosclerosis and the process at the
cellular level when arteries become blocked, causing a heart attack; and Betsy Kopmar, a painter, artist, animator
and instructor at Exípression College for Digital Arts, who used MAXON CINEMA 4D in a ëfree-formí style in ìNight
Fishing with Cormorants,î a meditative piece inspired in part by the 17th Century Japanese screen painting by Kano
Tanyu of the same title and the novel ìShipwrecksî by Akira Yoshimura that will be showcased in the Visual Music
category.

John LePore - Art Director - Perception
Focusing on the “time is money” scenario, John will be showcasing the projects Perception created under a tight deadline. Included will be an animated intro to the televised baseball games for the New York Mets, a Showtime Weeds promo, and a Microsoft Office viral web video, and more. All projects feature the tight integration between CINEMA 4D and Adobe After Effects.

Chris will reveal some of his secrets on creating reusable tools with Xpresso, illustrating that this can be accomplished by artists who are not programmers. Chris will delve into how he created “CS Tools” his free suite of Xpresso tools, and tell attendees how they can get their hands on these exciting CINEMA 4D / Xpresso add-ons.

Their process starts out with designing sets in the virtual world using CINEMA 4D and Vectorworks, then utilizing these designs to build the real world sets.
